What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear liner?
We often think of liner as a freight liner or a fabulous eye liner or those dreadful cotton barriers at that time of the month. I am actually here to talk to you about a panty liners, of sorts.
But not those ones.
Don't worry, men, you can keep reading -- this article applies to you, too!
Perusing the athletic section of any department store, you'll see that most performance shorts have a liner.
Here are 4 reasons why you need to make the liner your new best friend:

Think of the liner like this: You're the quarterback of the football and you count on your linemen for protection right?
Count on your liner to protect you.
I mean it.
Maybe not from a surprise tackled from your teammate but definitely from surprises that may occur when training, including, but not limited to: chafing, unexpected air drafts, and wardrobe malfunctions (more on this later).
You'll want to choose a liner that is anti-microbial, which brings me to my next point.
2) You Sweat... Everywhere... and ALOT!
Yea, everyone sweats.
But I'm talking about something we don't usually talk about: the sweat that inevitably comes from your nether regions. I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty sure it's normal to sweat in your crotch.
There. I said it. Now we can continue.
Don't get crotchety, it's ok.
Just grab a pair of shorts with a polyester blend liner and you're set. Choosing a polyester liner is another way to help with the accumulation of sweat in your crotch area. Polyester is known for it's anti-microbial and sweat-wicking attributes. You would be safe with a Polyester blend including Nylon or Spandex too but be sure the fabric isn't too thin or tight.
3) Not Your Mamas Crotch-et Club
Fortunately for athletes (yes, you're an athlete) there are liner options in both women's and men's shorts. Although not an entirely new development, liners are popping up more often in men's performance shorts!
With the vast improvements in the quality of liners, the guys (and the guys) can get the same level of comfort and protection that us women do.
Guys, don't sleep on the liner.
An effective liner will sometimes provide protection that underwear (or lack thereof) cannot provide including a more snug and supportive fit.
The last thing you want to worry about during a squat set, is shifting your trousers.
Can you say #SquatKill!?
Join the club. Embrace the liner. Your guys will thank you later.
4) The Silver Lining
Speaking of lack of underwear: how many of you don't wear underwear while you workout?
I knew it!
If you don't wear underwear, it's likely that you've given up all hope on finding a functional pair of workout "underwear" because perhaps the perfect pair does not exist or maybe, just maybe, you've found the perfect liner. #thelimitdoesnotexist
We listened to your woes and wishes and it resulted in a liner so comfortable, you won't even know it's there. Wear underwear with it, or don't (I won't judge) but just make sure the fit is right, so you don't offer a viewing party of your parts while stretching!

Great workout shorts!
These shorts are amazing for working out. They are comfortable and have a good fit. My quads are not that big, but the small fits them perfectly. I can squat and do exercises without having to cut my range short. I definitely recommend these shorts to anyone who runs and likes to exercise.
According to Jessica, of Easy Living Today, "These shorts are not only comfortable, but the waistband is adjustable and the athletic liner doesn’t pinch. They are also very lightweight and you almost feel like you’re running naked (in a good way)."
You know you've always wanted to run naked.
And now you can (almost).
This perfect liner can be found in our women's Lightspeed Short and our men's Rebel Short. Like no other, it encompasses everything an athlete would expect from the perfect liner: no pinching, no riding, and most importantly, built to last. Our liners are made of a thicker Polyester/Spandex blend that offers impeccable stretch and unrivaled softness.
The idea: feel as though you aren't wearing underwear.
Are you a fan of liners in Sports Gear? Why or Why Not!?
